The Portfolio Strategy Team at Catalyst Funds and Rational Funds is searching for a Vice President – Senior Portfolio Strategist.
With over $12 billion in assets under management across fund families (as of 12/31/24), we are seeking to engage our client base with value-add services that inform their investing decisions. We need a dedicated Portfolio Strategist who can formulate optimal portfolio allocations and present directly to clients.
Working with a tight-knit team and reporting to the Head of Portfolio Strategy, this role will be responsible for the following:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Utilize a quantitative process to identify improvements to the model portfolios of financial advisors and institutional clients, and help them understand how to optimally incorporate liquid alternatives and other asset classes.
- Have regular conversations with these clients, informed by the portfolio analysis that you create for them, sharing any recommendations for portfolio improvement.
- Make presentations on a bi-weekly or monthly basis to groups of advisors on the principles of portfolio construction, especially as it relates to liquid alternatives.
- Develop ideas for thought leadership tailored toward our client base, and collaborate with subadvisors and the internal content team to execute them.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or related fields.
- 5+ years of experience in an investment or client-facing role within Wealth or Asset Management, preferably with expertise across asset classes.
- CFA or CAIA preferred. Will consider candidates with substantial progress toward a designation. Ability to acquire the relevant securities licenses.
- Desire to help build out a growing team, with a focus on taking care of our internal and external clients.
Work Environment:
This is a hybrid position requiring three days in the New York City Midtown East office. Flexibility may be available based on individual circumstances and discussions with management.

Compensation
- Base salary is commensurate with experience, in the range of $100,000–$200,000.
- Candidates are also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
